Instagram Community Team, Contract Editorial Producer - Instagram, MPK
The Editorial Producer is a production coordinator for Instagram's daily editorial operations. He/she is responsible for supervising the quality assurance, technical build and publishing of finalized content to all of Instagram's daily editorial channels. The Editorial Producer assists in the administration of production workflows and in the development of a content production system.
The Editorial Producer acts as a project manager on cross-functional projects to ensure that content is delivered on time and meets Instagram's high standard of quality. The Editorial Producer is responsible for communicating with stakeholders, creating and presenting creative briefs, and maintaining a rigorous production flow.
The Editorial Producer provides daily production quality assurance from story development to publication and archive, and plays this vital role in upholding the high presentation standards of the Instagram brand through the daily editorial channels. The ideal candidate is highly organized, prioritizes attention to detail, thrives in a multi-tasking deadline driven environment and must have a demonstrated ability of working with a global team to publish daily editorial content across various social platforms for an international audience.
Manage cross-functional projects to ensure that editorial work is completed on time and meets project goals.
Build, production QA, schedule and publish all approved content to daily editorial channels, ensuring high technical quality assurance for all production details start to finish.
Coordinate publishing schedules and look ahead to enforce deadlines and solve editorial production issues on a regular basis.
Work closely with the global community team to improve operations and assist with internationalization of features in order to allow focus on creativity and experimentation.
Coordinate and collaborate with advocates and events producers on special projects.
Follow through publishing changes across all platforms and maintain living archive of published editorial stories.
Flexible schedule with ability to work with a global team across various time zones.
3-7 years experience in editorial publishing and operations, most importantly in the digital space with the responsibilities of final QA and technical build and production as well as project management.
Required production skills: content management systems, collaborative project management, experience with tools and etiquette in publishing across social platforms for a global audience.
Demonstrated experience working in production and operations for an international audience with multiple regional editions.
An interest in a career in operations for media publishing, project management, social media management, and community engagement: this is a very unique learning opportunity for a new generation in this space.
Experience working within a photo department or a publication that places priority on visual storytelling, as Instagram is so visually-centric.
1-3 years experience and demonstrated abilities in reporting and writing for a journalism publication (if so must be able to produce a published writing portfolio).
Bachelor's Degree in Journalism, Marketing, or Related Field.
